It's Friday and that can only mean a new blog! I took a week out to give you time to explore all the goodies from previous weeks but I had to write one this week - there is so much good stuff here!!! From new writing to online performances and some amazing podcasts with some of the best talent to be found in the UK right now! Enjoy my feel good moment with a link to an online version of the finale from Hairspray - just dancing round my kitchen and hope you do the same!

See you soon

Just seen this opportunity on the Beacon Arts Centre website and the closing date is Sunday so I thought I would post it here. Open to writers who have a full length script in progress and might benefit from some input at this 'script surgery'

Just seen that the play of the week in Nick Hearn Book's play reading group is Albion written by Mike Bartlett. I know that some clubs have performed his plays in the past and thought it might interest you. You get a chance to read the play for the week and you can then submit questions for a Q&A with the writer.

Happy Friday everyone! Episode 8 of Community Connection now available on the website.

Highlights this week - 2 lovely projects at the Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh, new masterclasses available through Get Creative and the BBC Lockdown orchestra. With the speed of the current situation unfolding, have you had time to think about safety online? Our friends at YTAS have and you can find lots of links to useful resources just follow the link provided. And finally, as the weeks roll by more and more of us are thinking about digital/online performances but make sure you check with publishers when it comes to performing rights and be patient as you may not get immediate answers.

Enjoy

Ury Players: At Home!
Whilst we wait for social distancing to be lifted for the performing arts, Ury Players have decided to start recording a series of short sketches and one act plays to help us all remain connected.

Here's a list of what we've been up to so far and when they'll be released. We've had great fun doing them and are hoping to record some more soon.

Check out our first video on Monday! 🎭🎬
