Perth Drama Club -`Double Bill'

Perth Drama Club are on the move to the A.K.Bell Library Theatre for their forthcoming productions, yes productions, on the same evening `Double Bill', two for the price of one, which as well as being excellent value is also guaranteed to have audiences roaring with laughter.

The cosy setting of the Library Theatre draws you into the up-close and personal lives of the characters in both plays. First up is the hilarious `Womerang' by Sue Townsend, the well known playwright, whom amongst others wrote `Diary of Adrian Mole' which was based on her own experiences of producing four children. An excellent cast at Perth Drama Club acts out `Womerang' for your enjoyment, with the scene set in a typical hospital waiting room where a genealogical clinic is in progress. The totally passive patients pass the time until Rita `erupts' into their midst, changing their attitudes and lives outrageously...there may be trouble ahead!

Next on the programme is `Politics in the Park' by lain Reggie, being revived after its success at the recent Scottish Community Drama Associations' Festival in Birnam. Actress's Helen Mitchell and Leigh Mearns put on a great performance earning them and the Club the Frank Martin trophy for the best depiction of Scottish life. "Following the success of the play the club felt that the Perth public should have the chance to see it" said director Christine Macfarlane "and because it is a one act play we decided to put on another, hence the `double bill' which promises to be a fun filled evening with familiar characters behaving badly! !"

You can see both plays at the A.K.Bell Library Theatre from Thursday 21st to Saturday 23rd of September, 2006. Refreshments and the usual raffle will be available, curtain up at 7.3Opm.
