PRS has amalgamated with PPL as a new joint venture between the UK’s two music licensing organisations —PPL and
PRS for Music All need to be aware of the copyright position which can get a bit complex where interpolated music* is concerned. Note that this needs to be authorised at least 30 days prior to the performance.

interpolated music means music not specially written for a theatrical production (and excluding overture, entr’acte, exit, “incidental” and “curtain” music) and which is performed by or intended to be audible to a character or characters in that theatrical production

Geoffrey Whitworth Competition
This is an annual UK wide competition, open to plays making their debut performance at a District Round of the One Act Play Festival anywhere in the UK. The play must not have been published anywhere prior to its performance. Authors are encouraged to revise their scripts after performance prior to submission. All plays entered for the Geoffrey Whitworth competition are read and marked by a professional judge.
The winner of the Geoffrey Whitworth competition is presented with the prize at the British Final of the One Act Play Festival. The application form can be downloaded below
