Play on Words 2021 Update

The last entry of the Play on Words competition 2021 was received on 31st March and we were delighted to get a total of 49 entries. We have 18 experienced readers currently judging the new scripts until end of May. Each script is being assessed by six readers to find the top dozen scripts. They will be further assessed to find the top three of each group to go to Guy Hollands (former Artistic Director Glasgow Citizens Theatre) who will host mentoring sessions with the winning playwrights to get the script ready for performance and publication.

SCDA OPPORTUNITY - ONLINE PERFORMANCE COMPANY
Following positive feedback from individuals across Scotland being in workshops together, I would like to create an SCDA performance company and am looking for expressions of interest. I will take on the director role and we will choose a play that we can get to a good standard for a rehearsed reading or performance. Look out for more details in the next e-newsletter and if this sounds like something you would like to do please drop me an email on nda@scda.org.uk

I know that some people are struggling with zoom fatigue but my aim is for this to be a fun and enjoyable experience for all of us.

Looking forward to my inbox filling up with a potential cast of thousands! 🎭
